The Jem Series

Renaissance Woman

Synopsis: Oh brother.Where do I start? This episode makes no sense to me. Somehow Danse and the Holograms are caught up in what seems to be a re-enactment of the Robin Hood story - the characters speak like olde worlde people when they remember to, Danse goes completely mad, I swear she does, ranting on about tyranny, and the whole thing is just completely undecipherable. I feel it my duty to point out here, as a student of Mediaeval history and a true brit,  that whoever wrote this episode (I forget) does not seem to be particularly familiar either with England or with English history at ALL. Robin Hood did not belong in the renaissance, for a start...and the interpretation the episode gives of the Feudal system would make any middle age baron cringe..(not to mention, of course, the fact that the social structure died out with the Industrial Revolution...two hundred years ago :p Yes, this wins my award for Worst Episode Ever. It's one saving grace is Raya's brilliant moment when she shows the other Holograms precisely how to shoot an arrow :P
Songs: Flowers In My Hair (Jem and the Holograms), To The Rescue (Jem and the Holograms), Love's Not Easy (Jem and the Holograms).
