Existing Variations:
Several variations in hair styling and rooting (see below examples). Some Clash dolls have their manufacture stamps just above the waist and not on the back between the shoulderblades. (Click here for comparison image - note image has been enhanced to show the stamps more clearly)

Mexican/Spanish/European versions?
None.
 Clash Head (Waist Stamped)
Clash: Doll (1)

Comments: This doll is one of the ones stamped above the waist. The hair on this one is rooted thicker than on the one in this example, but is still not as thickly rooted as some of my other clash dolls. Honestly, the big difference seems to be in expression. Her eyes seem a little smaller in definition and her makeup at a slightly different angle. Her hair is rooted in a kinda layered way, which falls round her face quite nicely. You can clearly see the dark purple and raya-pink strands mingled through it - this is true on all Clash dolls, though this one shows it very clearly.

The above mentioned back stamping has also been found on other dolls from the second year including Pizzazz, Danse, Roxy and Jetta.

Clash has normal hands - no ball wrists, ever! :)
Clash Head: Shoulder Stamp
Clash: Doll (2)
Comments: This is the more common version of Clash in terms of her backstamp. It is nicely between her shoulderblades, where it rightfully should be!

As I mentioned before, a lot of the differences between Clash dolls can be found in the hair. This Clash's hair is fairly neatly rooted, with a semi-fringe at the front. It has been somewhat pushed down by being displayed with her headset, but nonetheless it is styled to be more sleek than the above pictured doll. It appears to have less obvious pink streaks in it - though they are assuredly there! Her eyes seem a little bigger, and more 'innocent' somehow.

Clash has normal hands - no ball wrists, ever!

(Okay, I admit it. She's my favourite Clash. :P)
 Clash Head (Alternative Hair Example)
Clash: Doll (3)

Comments: This doll is not really much different from #2 in terms of the fact she has her stamp between her shoulders, where it should be. There are some make up differences in terms of shade, but in general the reason I put her here is simply to show yet another type of hair threading found on some Clash dolls. This doll has very long thick wavy hair!!
  Clash: Jacket
Clash: Jacket

Comments
: Neon yellow fluffy jacket - almost a shrug really. The collar is metallic lame and aqua in colour. The shade of the lame can vary very slightly but generally this is a uniform item.
  Clash: Dress
Clash: Dress

Comments
: A weird as heck item. Green dress on sight, it's woven from several strands of green and lesser strands of pink and gold metallic strips on a black fabric. Consequently very easily damaged and often shows pulls and snags or even patches of black fabric where the tinsel has been pulled away. Very hard to find in mint condition.
   Clash: Tights
Clash: Tights

Comments:
Pink with silver woven through them. Not as horribly garish as Rock and Curl Jem's tights, but still fairly pink. A shade more muted than the vocoder and the shoes.
   Clash: Belt
Clash: Belt

Comments:
Highly unimaginitive. Clash's belt is a strip of red metallic 'card' almost with a metallic blue square stuck on the front for a 'buckle'. The blue section is often worn away on loose items. The belt fastens with velcro and is easily creased.
   Clash: Shoes
Clash: Shoes

Comments: Pink scalloped shoes. Again, not as garish as Rock and Curl Jem's/Second Edition Aja's shoes. A slightly more purplish tone. A darker tone also than the plastic on her vocoder.

   Clash: Bracelets
Clash: Bracelets

Comments
: Not quite Misfit bracelets, and certainly not her 'cymbals' from the cartoon. Two, same shape as Glitter and Gold Jem's and Rock and Curl Jem's but in metallic red - similar to that on some First Edition Jem shoes.
Clash: Stand
Clash: Stand

Comments:
Four out of the five second year Misfit characters were sold with this stand, Clash being one. It is a cloudier plastic than the first edition, though in the same distinctive neon yellow. Mexican Misfits also had stands to match this design, except that theirs did not have the characteristic "TM" at the foot of the M of Jem. All normal edition stands have this, regardless of their colour or edition :)
   Clash: Neon yellow headset
Clash: Headset (Neon Yellow)

Comments:
Doll headset in yellow plastic. One of two versions -this one is decidedly neon yellow in shade. Zigzagged over the head with a microphone - all one piece.
   Clash: Headset (Yellow)
Clash: Headset (Pastel Yellow)
Comments: Doll headset in yellow plastic. One of two versions -this one is decidedly pastel yellow in shade. Zigzagged over the head with a microphone - all one piece.
Clash's Vocoder: Yellow Strap
Clash: Vocoder (Yellow Strap)
Comments: Also known as her "distortion modulator", the fancy name is NOT repeated in the item itself. Simply an oddly shaped item on a strap, the "vocoder" is neon pink with a zigzagged label on it, and a cord strap. This version has a pastel yellow strap and is one of two versions. When put side by side, this version appears slightly lighter pink than the other, but this may be coincidental. The strap is also shorter but undeniably of the same material as the other. It is difficult to confirm this as a genuine variation but I believe it probably is.
Clash's Vocoder: Green Strap
Clash: Vocoder (Yellow-Green Strap)
Comments: Also known as her "distortion modulator", the fancy name is NOT repeated in the item itself. Simply an oddly shaped item on a strap, the "vocoder" is neon pink with a zigzagged label on it, and a cord strap. This version has a yellow-green strap and is one of two versions. When put side by side, this version appears slightly darker pink than the other, but this may be coincidental. My Mint in Box Clash also has a Vocoder with this colour strap.
  Clash: Comb
Clash: Comb

Comments:
Pink. Yeah, I know. Aren't they all :S
  Clash: Cassette
Clash: Cassette

Comments:
Tape is black with yellow lettering and features the songs "Jem Theme", "I Am A Giant" and "You Oughta See The View". The B side features the instrumentals without any instrument playing the lead melody line.
Clash: Mint in Box
Clash: Mint In Box

Comments: Fairly universal. This is my (Belgian boxed) Clash so her box is in two languages (French/Flemish or Dutch), but English language boxes are the same, merely saying Truly Outrageous at the bottom and Clash of the Misfits in the top box. Box features Clash drawn on the front and a photo of the second edition Misfits (Minus Jetta) on the back.
Note the cute "rats-tail" in the box! LOL :) I don't know if all Clash dolls are like this or if mine is coincidental...;)
  Clash: Myths and Mysteries
  • Clash from Glitter and Gold Clash: Series One (pre doll production) Clash the character appeared in the show long before the doll appeared on shelves. Between the first season and the second, Clash underwent a few image adjustments. The original "Clash" had aqua blue and red hair, but abruptly this changed with the Glitter and Gold episode, infamous for being the big Jem ad campaign for the second year. The Clash in this episode resembled the produced doll more than she ever did in any other episode, because although after this her hair colour was always purple, she retained her old ratstail.
