~RAYA~

Raya was only sold in the final year of production, though unlike Jetta, who was introduced at the same time in the cartoon, she was sold universally. Despite being a second year only doll, and somewhat hard to find, it is said, Raya too possesses some variances, and it has been said that there are Rayas out there with factory defects such as multiples of the same type hand. It is true to say that ALL Raya dolls have ball wrists and the slightly smaller proportioned body that comes with it :)
I have four loose Raya dolls - two are rescue cases because of hand injuries, one is my complete doll and one I kept simply because noone seemed to want to buy her. This page also includes my sister's doll, whose origins I know implicity, since Elena had her from box :) Because Raya is sought after, however, I have kept less of this doll than I have of others (Also Raya is no great favourite of mine, either) so the entries here are somewhat smaller than for say, Aja, Shana or Kimber. That aside, however, our Rayas come from various sources :)

Comments:  She has lost her original curl, sadly, so it is impossible to comment on how she was originally rooted. Her face/eyes/lips seem narrower (though not narrow) and you can actually see a mite of Pizzazz (same head mould) in her. Her lipstick is lavendery pink and the aqua of her eyeshadow is fairly wide compared with the other 2 colours.

Comments: One of my rescue dollies and perhaps a candidate for the reject bin at hasbro because of her factory defects. Despite this, however, her hair is styled in big loose curls and her face is wider than 01. The aqua of her eyeshadow is less wide in proportion to the purple and blue and her lips are a mite darker. The second dots for her eyes also seem misplaced, being that they cross the black lining of the eye. She also has a "side fringe" almost (if you see the picture you'll know what I mean). 03 also has similar hair styling.

Comments:  Interesting about this doll is that her hair is actually a darker/pinker colour than the other Raya dolls I have at my disposal. Whether this is to do with dye or the quantity of the blond against the pink fibres, I don't know, but it's true. Her curls are also big and loose like 02 and her makeup is quite big over her eyes. Her lipstick is also a mite pearly and her skin tone a touch darker.

Comments: This is my sister's Raya, bought from France in Belgian box (she chose to have her Raya doll loose). She is important to include because of her hair - instead of big loose curls Raya has mad curls all over her head, and if you were to straighten her hair I think it would be thicker and longer than any other Raya dolls. This appears common to many European bought Rayas. Her lips are painted slightly bigger than the other dolls, as is her eyeshadow.

Comments:  Big loose curly hair for this one, too. She also has the side styling of 03 and 02. She has the most even eyeshadow of all the Raya dolls here, and her lips are painted evenly.
