This Set MIP Some of the earliest issues of 1993, these three Bedtime Newborns
saw the beginning of what is sometimes labelled the end of UK ponies. All
ponies of this era were carded with dark pink cards and shared stories with
the rest of their set and these were certainly no exception. None of the
three ever broke into the comic, due to the extremely popular launch of the
Seven Character ponies that same
year. A common mistake is to call Baby Moondream 'Napper'. I don't know which
bright spark dreamt up that one, but it's nonsense :D. My sister and I had
all of these girls from new and on the back of the card it clearly names her
'Moondream', likewise on the front :-p.
Each baby came with a bottle which matched the colour of her mane, but no other accessory to my memory. They were actually some of the cheaper babies when new - sold at prices between £2.49 (Children's World) and £2.99 (Woolworths and pretty much every other store) which made them ideal pocket money toys for the kids of that time :) |
