Flutter Ponies

"Flutter Ponies bring good luck..."
That was the claim that every single flutter pony entry in the Pony Fact File made. However, with their delicate wings, Flutter Ponies were something of a beautiful nightmare for children who wanted to play with their ponies. The wings were made of a delicate irridescent plastic, and were meant to flutter up and down when the child pressed the shell-like button in between the wings.
The original flutter ponies were all pastel shades and named after flowers. Rosedust was the undisputed flutter pony 'Queen', but, rather like their colourschemes, the personalities of the rest of the bunch were rather muted in the pony stories. All of them appeared in My Little Pony, the Movie, but aside from Morning Glory and Rosedust herself, they did not really get to express any kind of personality until the sequel, "The End of Flutter Valley." Oddly enough, Lily is entirely omitted from Hasbro's list for this year's issue, and in the fact file she is mistakenly pictured as being lavender. As she does appear on the insert, however, I believe that this was simply an oversight and that Lily was always meant to be a part of the UK issue. There would be another set of Flutters the following year.
There were also three other Flutter Ponies made - Yum Yum from the Party Gift Set, Pink Dreams from the Slumber Party Gift Set and Hollywood, the Mail Order pony.
