The Great Hair Ponies were advertised as having the 'most hair ever' (see image of MIB Highlights below!) and it's true that in terms of their manes they did have a heck of a lot of hair! These manes were of three colours - Highlights' being orange,yellow and beige, Ringlets' being dark pink, light pink and white - but strangely their tails were very short and only of one colour. The hair was also crimped and as a symbol each pony had coloured squiggles across her back. Each of them came with a bow hairtie with attached ribbons, and a small bow hairclip, plus a shooting star comb (all of which can be clearly seen in the picture below!) I believe Ringlets had a yellow shooting star comb and a yellow bow hairtie...if memory serves her bow hairclip was also pink or purple. Ringlets had the honour of being the 'hostess' of the 1994 My Little Pony insert, stating '"What a great collection of my friends...everyone of us needs your love." She is the only pony on the insert to be named directly. Note the dark pink style of Highlights' box was the norm for pretty much every UK/Euro pony issued from 1993 till the end of production at the close of '94. |
