The one overwhelming thing I remember about Merry Treats
is that she only ever appeared in the shops round my area in the run up to
Christmas, and disappeared soon after, though I think she was on sale for
two Christmases running. I remember very vividly that she was sold in a
bright red and green box, totally different to any of the other pony boxes
of the time, and that she was issued with a green christmas tree pick, which
was later sold as a 'free gift' with the My Little Pony Comic.
She would also make something of an annual comic appearance come the end of the year, replacing what had become the tradition of one little pony being chosen as 'pony christmas' to deliver the toys and presents around ponyland. One very busy little pony!! She was sold everywhere, as far as I know :) Please ignore the hairstyling on my Merry Treats - she just likes to make an exhibition of herself, that's all ;) |
