Okay, this is just weird. Firefly, the reissue happened in 1991,
and she was sold on card with a video tape featuring 'Rescue at Midnight
Castle', now to be known under the name of Firefly's Adventure. This was only
a North American venture, however, this edition never reached Europe (Presumably
this can be explained in part by the need for a different format of video).
I think that the other ponies who played a role in this first ever episode
of My Little Pony, and even Megan can feel a little aggrieved at the renaming,
which now highlighted Firefly as the actual 'star'.
Firefly now stood in a new pose, with a painted symbol and dark blue hair. But the weirdest thing about this is the name she has been ascribed by collectors. 'Movie' Firefly did not come with the Movie at all, so it would perhaps be better to call her 'Video' Firefly :) She was sealed onto a vividly pink card with the video in tow...just odd. |
