THIS SET MOC Despite the collectafile pictures, these are the four Playschool
Babies as they were meant to look. Issued at the time of the Schoolhouse,
they all came with 1234 combs and freckled cheeks, and names relating to
school accessories. Despite standing in a common and early female pose, Baby
Schoolbag is intended to be a male pony, and in Holland he was sold in green
as well, late on in MLPdom. There have been various rumours and myths over
how to name these four baby ponies, but their real names according to Hasbro's
records, the UK card and to the comics and annuals are Baby Count-a-Lot,
Baby Schoolbag, Baby Alphabet and Baby Pictures. Just to prove my point ;)
Baby Count-a-Lot and Baby Schoolbag can be seen mint in package below. Though
as you can clearly see on the cards, the name of the set was "PlaySCHool",
Hasbro makes reference to them as PlaySKool baby ponies for both of the two
years they were issued.
They were sold in Europe and the UK, but not in North America. I promise to get better pictures of my Playschool Babies once I have a moment to do so - British weather is not good for taking pictures! |
