Seven Character Ponies This Set MIP: 1993 This Set MIP: 1994 The Seven Characters are possibly some of the best known of the UK issued ponies, as they were also the stars of the My Little Pony Tales cartoon series which aired on US Cable Television. They were also very much the focus of the later UK comic strips and the last annual of 1994 befor production of My Little Pony, the first generation ceased completely. Although well publicised, they are not easy to come across secondhand. In Holland different coloured versions of these ponies were sold, though I've never seen dutch versions of Patch or Clover. These girls were kinda special too because their combs were generally unique to each of them and their personalities. Starlight had a blue stars pick, Bright Eyes a pink notebook comb, Sweetheart a heart comb in I think lavender, Melody a yellow stereo comb, Patch had a blue satchel comb, Clover had a cloverleaf comb but the colour I don't remember, and Bon Bon had a sweetie comb in pink. Starlight is wearing her original ribbon in the photo. In 1994, the Seven Characters were sold with stickers instead of a comb and ribbon.
