Sundae Best Ponies

 In my view, these are some of the ugliest, smelliest little ponies Hasbro ever dared to introduce. The raised symbols meant that these girls had meand a totally new mould was necessary for each of them, and resulted in some rather odd looking variations on existing moulds. Extremely common to find and perfumed with sickly sweet scents, the Sundae Best were also sold in the UK under the name of Ice Cream Ponies one year. According to the same insert (link below), they were sold with hairclips, which was indeed true of the US issue. However, several UK collectors who bought these as children have told me that their ponies did not come with the hairclips, and MOC ones I have seen seem to back this up. It is possible that there were more than one issue, but this is still undetermined. In the stories of the year they played a significant role, with Sorbet Surprise's magic whispering grape vine (!), and Butter Kiss' field of buttercups, from which, if memory serves, she made butterscotch sundaes. Adding to this Chocolate Chip's chocolate mountain...well, you get the picture. In the USA, Sorbet Surprise, Butter Kiss, Chocolate Chip, and Cherry Berry were called Sherbert, Swirly Whirly, Cocoberry and Crunch Berry respectively and though the UK insert originally gave the pony names the incorrect way around, this is them with their true IDs.
Also in existance, and of German origin is an aqua haired version of Butter Kiss (left) and a lavender haired version of Chocolate Chip (right).
