Sunshine
Ponies Ponies with hair that changed colour in the sun -this
was Hasbro's sales pitch for the Sunshine Ponies. And who could doubt
them, after the baby seaponies capable of changing colour all over in warm
water!
Sunshine Ponies had a streak of white or pale pink in their hair which changed in UV light to a deep magenta. THeir sumbols represented the seaside and they were just the right ponies for a 1989 summer holiday. Only four of the six were sold in the UK, with Shoreline and Sea Flower not making the shortlist. In the comics, Mainsail had her own special boat, whilst Sand Digger liked to build sandcastles on the beach. I have a feeling Beachball had some kind of magic trick to do with beachballs, but for the life of me I don't remember what it was... |
