Surprise Newborn Ponies The last ever set of newborn ponies. *Wipes a tear from eye* ;). These three little newborn ponies were the 'Surprise Newborns', so called because when they were sold in stores they came with a painted on nappy so that the symbol was obscured. The nappy washed off (it was NOT renewable, once washed off it was gone forever) to reveal a symbol. They also came with cloth nappies to replace the painted one once it was gone. They really did prove to be a surprise, too, because each of them has two possible symbol versions. Baby Bouncy, who is the only baby pony to be made in this arguably 'rearing' newborn pose can have a giraffe or a teddybear, Baby Cuddles can have a kitten or an elephant, and Baby Snoozy a rabbit or...erm...something else :-/. In all honesty I only have one of  each baby in my collection, and since I had my Baby Bouncy from new I didn't even wash off her nappy. This means of course that I don't know her symbol, and because of the variations I've chosen to photograph my three above with their cloth nappies on :) To the left is a picture loaned me by SUNSHINE of Baby Bouncy with a teddy bear symbol, just to give some idea of what these symbols were like :) To the right is my Baby Bouncy without her cloth nappy, so you can see what the original paint nappies looked like! But I guess that's Hasbro for you, finishing with the unexpected! :-D
