Twice As Fancy Ponies (Set One)

LOLLIPOP (aqua blue with dark pink mane and tail, pink and blue lollipops symbol)	STRAWBERRY FAIR (white with red mane and tail, red strawberries and green vine symbol)	DANCING BUTTERFLIES (yellow pegasus with yellow mane and tail, pink and blue butterflies symbol)

Twice As Fancy Ponies Known as 'Party' Ponies in the UK, these are the six 'Twice as Fancy' Ponies of 1987, the arguable successor to the Twinkle Eye and the So Soft of earlier years. The ponies had new poses but went back to a couple of old traditions, with Milky Way having the uniform streak in her mane (blue, it's hard to see in the picture) and glittery symbol. Having said this, there is also a version of Milky Way with white stars (left) who was sold in Europe but not America. Both versions were sold from new in the UK. How do I know this? The silver star Milky Way (below) is my own childhood pony, and my best friend as a child had a white star Milky Way from new at the same time :) The insert shows only a drawing, but the stars look faintly grey in that :) In America, Lollipop is called Sweet Tooth and Strawberry Fair is called Sugarberry :) 1987 also had two other TAF ponies issued - Fifi, who came with the Crimp and Curl Hair Salon (US: Perm Shoppe) and Scoops, who came with the Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe. The latter playset was not sold in the UK. Oddly enough, on a second UK insert, the Crimp and Curl Hair Salon was called the Curl and Twirl Perm Salon. This insert also recorded wrong names for the Sundae Best ponies, however, so perhaps should not be taken as canon :) Either way, both are scanned below :) Take your pick...
