Twinkle Eye Ponies

THE UK ISSUE SET: MIP

The last set of Twinkle Eye ponies too this year. Along with Speedy, these six ponies were the set for 1987 on American store shelves, and, in what seems to be something of a pattern, are often more sought after (with the possible exception of Locket). This seems to be something to do with the colourschemes of the ponies, since pink ponies were produced in greater quantity. Locket was the only one of these girls to become a tv series regular, appearing in the Magic Coins, among others, however Mimic did make an on screen foray also in Quest for the Golden Horseshoes (See capture).

Locket and Tic TacToe, plus Speedy, Sky Rocket and two ponies from the first six (Fizzy and Sweetie) made up the UK issue this year, since Mimic, Bright Eyes and Quackers were not sold here (See insert scan, below). It seems that this set was an amalgamation of America's three issues of the Twinkle Eye set.
