Pah. Another group of ponies not sold in the UK. Gusty *was* sold
here, but under a different issue, and the US and UK versions can be told
apart clearly by the fact that the US one has glittery symbols and aqua
eyes, whilst the 'Movie Star' or Non So Soft Gusty
has painted symbols and green eyes. Gusty was the UK's equivalent to a
nanny and a nurse all in one, for she looked after the baby ponies and
tended the sick and wounded. A thankless task!
Of the others, Powder appears to have been something of a mischief, for her fact file entry suggests her to like making snow imitations of objects to confuse her friends. Sparkler is a magpie pony, storing up sparkly trinkets and keepsakes she finds for her special collection, and Skyflier...well, flies kites. Mm, guess that was obvious. Weirdly only Gusty would be reborn as a So Soft Pony, while the other three faded into relative oblivion. The moulds were both new for the year, but, whilst Gusty and Sparkler's was reused many times, Skyflier and Powder's mould was archived until the Dance and Prance ponies were created. Only Sparkler of the four was given curls - sadly mine seems to have lost hers long ago, but the length and thickness of her hair against the others clearly marks her out as a curly haired pony at one time :-D |
