BIRTHDAY PARTY GIFT SET

The Birthday Party Gift Set did appear, in concept, in the United Kingdom. However, it didn't come out in 1986, and when it did, it featured one pony, not five - a little pony called Tutti Frutti.

The North American set, in contrast, featured a selection box of the year's popular styles - one Twinkle Eye Pony, one Flutter Pony, one Beddy Bye Eye Baby Pony, one So Soft Pony and one Pretty and Pearly Baby Sea Pony. None of these five ponies were ever sold as part of any other set, and none of them were ever sold in the United Kingdom.

The accessories from the set included a six piece party cake with a blue serving plate, six smaller plates, invitations, party hats, party blowers and a pin the tail on the pony game. In the North American set, the invites featured flutter ponies (I forget which flutter, but probably YumYum) and the Pin the tail on the pony game featured Party Time. (In the UK Tutti Frutti release, these would both feature Tutti Frutti herself).

YumYum, the flutter pony, is often found second hand without her shimmering irridescent wings, as these easily break with play.
