BABY BLÜMCHEN
(Aka Baby Buttons)

Pinkish lavender baby unicorn with blue mane and tail (dark pink streak), pink buttons and blue stars symbol.

Baby Blümchen, better known to English speaking collectors as "Baby Buttons" was one of the ponies uniquely sold in specific parts of Europe. Despite often being mistakenly listed as a "UK Baby Pony" on prominent pony collecting sources, she was never sold over here.

Baby Blümchen is an intriguing baby pony because, despite her restricted issue in German speaking Europe, she made a random appearance in one episode of the Sunbow animated series (circa 1987). The cartoon in question is Crunch the Rock Dog (part 1), where she appears at the very start, crying in her crib and being comforted by adult Buttons.

BABY BUTTONS: CRUNCH THE ROCK DOG

Nobody has yet managed to explain this random moment of odd, but her features are so distinct it isn't a case of mistaken identity.

Baby Blümchen's symbol is pink buttons and blue stars, which is key because of the symbol variations that exist with the adult Buttons. Baby Blümchen's symbol matches perfectly with the more classic version of Buttons, indicating that she was intended for European and not US release. You can find out more about Buttons and her symbol variations on the adult pony's page. As far as I know there are no symbol variations for the baby.
