BLOSSOM

Pale lavender earth pony with lavender hair, white blossoms symbol

Blossom is perhaps one of the better known of the original little ponies. Characterised in the pony comics and on occasional backcards as the keeper of a beautiful garden and Cotton Candy's long suffering friend, Blossom was a gentle, sweet natured pony whose only exasperated moments came when she caught her friend nibbling on her flowers!

Blossom the pony had a very extensive release. Aside from her original six issue, she was rereleased with Cotton Candy and four new ponies in 1983-4 across the globe. Many variations on her theme exist also, and can be found in the variant section of the website. It is generally more common to find Blossom with concave feet rather than flat ones, though in the TV commercial in the USA for the Grooming Parlour she is featured having flat feet. However, both versions are quite easy to find.

Blossom's body colour is a pale lavender but often fades or discolours to a nasty beige. For this reason it's uncommon to find her in really mint condition off the card. (I know that I'm still looking!)
