1983:Unicorn and Pegasus Ponies

GLORY

White unicorn with dark purple hair (blue streak in mane) and glittering two tailed shooting star (comet) symbol

Glory was part of the original unicorn and pegasus release in North America in 1983-4.She was re-released with the second set of Unicorns and Pegasi in 1984-5, but I am unsure if there was any variation. Certainly she did not have curly hair, unlike the pegasus ponies in this second release.

It is notoriously difficult to find a Glory with a perfect symbol and she is also prone to yellowing. NO yellow variation Glory exists, despite myths that flutter around the collecting community. Any yellowed Glorys are, therefore, aged and icky :P

Glory appeared in stories and UK merchandise, and the plush was sold here. But Glory the pony was not.

As a comic and story character, Glory was always the wise unicorn pony. She didn't have many comic outings that really focused on her, but she was described in the UK Fact File as the most elegant of all the earth bound ponies.

The fact that not all unicorns were earthbound in UK pony lore possibly undermines that a little - but she was still a popular favourite.
