Mail Order Ponies
(1982-1994)

In the UK, we were royally stiffed on Mail Order ponies. There is no getting around it - aside from (maybe) baby Ember, Baby Lucky and whatever appeared here at the end of line clearance, we had no exclusively Mail Order ponies. We had the Club Newborn ponies, but other points ponies included those already sold in stores.

There were other things for us to send off for, though, in the early years at least (joy!). These included things such as carrycases and playmats (not a substitute, I hasten to add, for all the wonderful Mail Order ponies being given to kids Stateside).

Still, we had what we had, and paperwork for these is quite rare, but here are some examples of the UK's idea of mail order. I do have the carrycases, but not accessible to photograph at the moment.

It should be mentioned first and foremost that the image at the top of the page comes from the one and only colour booklet I am aware of relating to Mail Order in the UK - featuring Magical Breeze.
