Rapunzel

Pink earth pony with long yellow and dark pink mane, extremely long tail (both rooted with dark pink tinsel). Rapunzel in a castle tower symbol.

Wow, not the best picture ever of my Rapunzel, I have to admit!

For some reason, this seems to be one of the major 'grail' ponies for many pony collectors. From being an approximately $80 pony when I first got my girl, her price has soared over the years and it is rare to see a Rapunzel sell loose for less than $200 these days. (Sometimes even far more than that.)

What it is about Rapunzel I really don't know. She's not especially striking - using a pink and gold combination like many many other little ponies. Yes, she has a very long tail, but then, so do the Brush & Grow ponies. I believe her braid is original to her release.

And yet, somehow, she has become something of a collector status symbol :S Weird...but true!

Sold only through mail order and only in those countries which participated (USA and Canada, I believe), her release was always limited. But considering the fact this is true for many of the Mail Order ponies...I'm still at a loss to explain why this pony has become so expensive to acquire!
