Stockings, the Holiday Pony

Another pony that looks like a relative of the Birthflower Ponies, Stockings was the original Christmas pony, although if you ask me Merry Treat has far more festive colours. Stockings featured originally on an insert which was all her own, and I believe this came in the packages of some of the ponies in 1985 or thereabouts. She is not that common on the second hand market, largely because the attention is usually taken by the Birthflowers and, at a glance, from head-on she can be mistaken for one of them.

A baby pony, issued later in the line, is often called 'Baby Stockings', but has no connection to this pony.

She was never sold in the UK, and was only issued via special offer in North America in the earlier years of the Mail Order system.
