sotsugyou M: the seiyuu

I wasn't aware of Ishikawa Hideo's work as a seiyuu until I got into E.M.U, and of course, he was a part of that whole project. Equally, because I didn't like Yuusuke all that much, he didn't make a great impression on me as a seiyuu until I saw (heard?) him voice other characters such as the sinister Sokorov in Marginal Prince and the laid back Kanayan in Kiniro no Koruda (wow, E.M.U have a seiyuu in each neoromance...who would've thought?). It's probably more since Koruda that I've begun to be a fan of Ishikawa-san's work, if not in as big a capacity as some of the others, especially since the tracks he sang for that are some really nice numbers. (This includes one operatic track, which is not surprising when you consider that at one point he was looking to become an opera singer...)

Like Okiayu-san and Kanna-san, he takes part in the neoromance festas and lives because of his connection to Koruda - the picture to the right is from the Seisougakuinsai where he - as "Kanazawa-sensei" is overseeing a quiz with Takagi Reiko and Mizuhashi Kaori. On one occasion during a Winter live, when he and Kanna-san were sharing the stage, he commented on how nostalgic a feeling it was, being back at the Pacifico Yokohama after so long away!
