Oretachi no HAPUNINGU

Back to the full scale comedy with a vengeance! Mikimaro thinks he saw a cross-dressing Takagi (frilly white woman's blouse, in fact!) running through the school grounds during lunch break. Arai thinks this is hilarious, Katou is confused, Takagi claims he was in the music room and Nakamoto apparently can back up both stories...and seems to be stuck rather in the middle of a decidedly loud and somewhat embarrassing discussion (at least where Takagi is concerned).

Ok. Back to the plot. Yuusuke accidentally manages to let slip that they've planned a surprise party for Mikimaro's birthday (trust Yuusuke...) and Mikimaro is all excited about it. And hereon in the chaos begins. Arai heads out for his usual night on the town, but not before promising to be back in time for the party. So he heads out, but when he gets back the school is all locked up and even Takagi - who usually lets him in - seems to be asleep. At first he plans to sleep outside - where he is discovered by Kusanagi who apparently roams the grounds at night ^_^. It begins to rain, and Kusanagi entices him to come to the Kusanagi Palace for shelter. Arai is wary - actually he calls Kusanagi a pervert - but for Mikimaro's sake he agrees and cuts a deal with Kusanagi, promising to cook him breakfast so long as he's left alone. So the deal is made.

The next morning, like a little kid, Mikimaro is up at 6am, and trying to get any information he can out of his friends. He winds up in Nakamoto's room, where Nakamoto gives him a quick computer lesson (!?) and he asks where Arai is. He's worried Arai isn't back, but Nakamoto tells him not to worry because Arai is the type to keep his word - he'll be back.
Meanwhile, at the Palace, Arai has slept in and is running late. Still, a promise is a promise, so he invades the kitchen, whipping up Kusanagi's breakfast as he agreed. (Arai really seems to like cooking, I've had that impression before, and this confirms it even more!). Although he prepares Japanese cuisine and Kusanagi usually eats French food, at Sugita's prompting Kusanagi agrees to make an exception - and the three of them sit down to breakfast together... of course, then Arai realises he can't leave the Palace, and things get complicated! Kusanagi tells him that the only way he'll let him leave is if he promises to become his...which Arai doesn't have any idea of doing.

To begin with, Mikimaro is convinced Arai has forgotten, although the others feel he wouldn't break a promise and that something must have happened to him. With Sugita's help, Arai manages to send an email from the Palace to Nakamoto's computer, telling him what's happened and asking them to come and rescue him if he hasn't emerged in a couple of days.

So a couple of days pass, and the boys discuss the possibility of rescuing Arai. Mikimaro suggests Takagi could offer himself in Arai's place, which Takagi is violently opposed to. However, when they go to class Arai apparently is already there...or is he? Strangely this Arai seems to be overly nice to Mikimaro, to have forgotten the plans for Mikimaro's party and to suddenly have developed a liking for rain. The boys are suspicious but there is no proof until Nakamoto gets another email from a rather annoyed Arai asking if anyone cares that he's still missing. With this in mind, Nakamoto and Takagi realise that the fake Takagi seen by Mikimaro earlier in the story is probably the same person impersonating Arai...and so hatch a plot involving the fake-Arai to get the real Arai back...

Though it's not explicitly said in this story who and how the fake-ness is achieved, I'm 99% sure that the culprit is *probably* Kikunosuke from GIZOKU. More on him here...
