So there's something odd I just noticed. I don't normally bring non show "canon" stuff into my discussion here, but aside from being weirded out by the idea of a four year old changing her hair colour to better suit her husband to be (I really hope I read that wrong - surely she must have been older?), I've found what seems to be a small continuity blip between onscreen OVA 1 and offscreen Shin novels.
According to the text of the novel Yosho - assuming the translation I read is accurate, when Ayeka and Yosho became engaged, he was twelve and she was four. (And if she was older when she changed her hair, then that would also contradict the cartoon)
There is NO way in the world that Yosho is only twelve in the OVA cartoon scene with Ayeka and the royal teardrop. Not even slightly. Dare we say that official canon argues with official canon? ;) Surely not!
Personally I think anyone who changes their hair colour to be more attractive to their brother when they're four years old needs serious mental health treatment...but anyhow. She is Misaki's daughter, so I suppose it does run in the genes :S
Thankfully in the other series canons there is no ludicrous genetic hair colour changing going on. I mean heck, if you'll believe in that, you'll believe in anything ^_^.
