1992: Colorswirl Ponies

SPRINGY

Dark pink earth pony with white stripes (printed on), white and lavender mane and tail, blue square with clear swirl and blue shapes symbol.

I actually first saw Springy (and Lovebeam) in a picture in issue 200 of the MLP UK comic, with a little girl's collection which was replete with ponies I had never seen before. (Now I know they were late issue US ponies, but then I would stare at the image often, and wonder what they were!).

Springy was also the first of this set I saw up close and in real life, because, in May 1998, when I met my first trade partner to do a mass trade, she showed me one she had brought as a surprise for her grandchild's birthday. Maybe because of those two things, I have a genuine affection for this set (although I don't like their pose!) and Springy in particular.

I'm not really sure about the name, though.
