1990:

SWEETSTEPS BALLERINA PONIES

The Sweetsteps Ballerina ponies were Hasbro's first foray into poseable My Little Pony. Designed to be adult ballerinas (like you can't guess from the name), they had legs which could be moved (though not bent at the knee), and their heads could turn. Their bodies were in different colours, representing a leotard, and their symbols were on their backs not their haunches because of the rear leg joint. (The later Baby Ballerina set solved this problem by not giving the ponies symbols at all!)

Each pony was sold with a very skimpy tutu. They were never sold in the UK.
