There are a few sources of song lyrics for WeissKreuz on the net. However, there are also some very very inaccurate lyric listings for the WK songs - some of which are on very well frequented lyric websites but have been incorrectly submitted and left uncorrected.
This is my reason for this section. WK fans deserve to have the correct lyrics for the songs - after all, Japan is the home of Karaoke. What is music without words anyway?
All the song lyrics on this page have been transcribed and
transliterated by me from original Weiss lyric sources. These are
generally from CD sleeves or concert lyric sheets. The transliterations
come from the kanji. Sometimes readings of the kanji is given different
furigana, or less common readings (and this I've noticed has caused
errors on some of the song lyrics listed on other sites).
I own all of the Weiss Kreuz album releases and the concert release DVDs, so I have Kanji for most of the songs. I don't have all of the singles or drama CDs, however, so there are songs from those for which I don't have Kanji. And unless I either acquire those CDs or someone donates Kanji scans, I won't be adding those lyrics to the site. (Currently the only WK Drama CD I own is Eternal Angel I (Dramatic Image Collection)).
I also really believe in being accurate. So if for any reason I have
doubt about the transcription/transliteration, the song won't appear
The bottom line is - if I don't have the
lyrics in Kanji, I won't be adding the
song to the site.
generally holds a lot of its meaning in the
way it's written after all. Some of the songs are clear enough to
transcribe from sound alone but Miki in particular has terrible
enunciation on occasion, and errors are easy to make. Plus, unless you
are fluent and 100% sure, you can't pull a good Kanji likeness of the
song without the lyrics. There are some awful by-sound-alone
transcriptions of WK songs all over the web - and I mean truly, truly
awful to the point of nonsensical. This site is not going to fall into
that trap. Anything that appears here will be done from the original
kanji by me from my own WK collection :)
If anyone has any corrections, also, please get in touch. I'm studying Japanese, but I'm not claiming to be perfect and I do want this site to be accurate. So I will welcome any wiser brains than mine who have contributions to make.
I don't have a lot of time to devote to this section, so the chances are I won't get to translating the lyrics as well, even though my brain could probably use the practice and some of the songs have some really cool lyrics. I might do one or two favourites if I have a moment - if anyone feels so inclined as to contribute an accurate translation, please, feel free to get in touch. Also please be aware that my Japanese is not fluent and there may be translation errors :)
