1986: Beddy Bye Eye Baby Ponies

BABY SHADY

neon pink baby pony with neon yellow mane and tail, blue and white sunglasses symbol. BEDDY BYE EYES.

Baby Shady, despite the fact she officially did not exist in the United Kingdom, had the enviable honour in the UK pony comic of having a boat named after her. At least, whether the boat was named for her or named the same as her I can't quite recall, but that it was her special boat was certain. The effective daughter of Shady of the magic sunglasses, Baby Shady of course had her own pair of psychadelic specs tucked away somewhere in her toybox.

The irony of it is that, of all the characters from the set, it is probably Baby Shady who had the strongest personality. Yet she was never sold here. She was, however, sold extensively in North America and specific parts of Europe and Australasia with the unpopular fluttering "Beddy Bye Eyes". The colour of her body is similar to the colour a So Soft Shady is beneath her flocking. It bears very little resemblance to the dramatic neon of the "Movie Star" or original Shady that was sold here in the UK in 1987.
