1982:Flat Footed Ponies

SNUZZLE

Grey earth pony with pink hair, pink hearts symbol

Snuzzle is essentially known among collectors as Peachy's less common cousin, though she is not all that hard to find in her own right. In the United States, she appears to have been sold first as a Flat Foot (above), then as a concave foot (bottom) and then through the mail order (also with concave feet). Because of the vast number of batches, it is impossible to tell one concave footed pony from the other without them being mint in package - though there are a lot of myths among the collecting community on how to distinguish a mail order pony.

Snuzzle's symbols can also fade from pink to pinkish white - this is not a variation.

In the UK, Snuzzle's editions are far more confusing and blurry. Though we know she was sold here, a definitive mode of release is pretty much impossible to settle on.

We know that she was sold at Argos (a catalogue store) with Baby Bow Tie and her Stroller in around 1985-6 (thanks to Garej for the catalogue image, above!). We also know that a special edition of the Grooming Parlour was made with Snuzzle as it's hostess, and this appears to have been sold between the end of Peachy's reign and the introduction of Kiss Curl and her purple salon. (See Snuzzle's Grooming Parlour for more on this release).

It seems likely that a surplus of Snuzzle was the reason for both releases. As far as I can tell, both releases featured the CONCAVE foot version of Snuzzle. The stroller set retailed for the collective price of £8.95. Snuzzle was not sold with the stroller outside of Argos.

Whether or not Snuzzle was sold on card in the UK is still up for as much debate as the other Flat Foots. However, I think it is highly likely that she was.
