1989: Princess Brush & Grow Ponies

PRINCESS STAR GLEAMER

Blue earth pony with yellow, pale pink and dark pink mane and tail (dark pink tinsel in mane), pink and yellow striped stars symbol, dark pink gem on forehead.

I apologise for the somewhat played with condition of my childhood Star Gleamer!

Princess Star Gleamer was one of the earth pony Princess Brush & Grows. Despite being originally advertised in a unicorn pose, she instead shared the more common earth pony 'walking' pose.

PROTOTYPE PRINCESS STAR GLEAMER: As seen in the TV commercial

In one of the comic adventures that sticks most strongly in my mind, Princess Star Gleamer was kidnapped and locked in a tower in a Rapunzel-esque adventure. She was eventually rescued by Princess Skylark and some elf called Kestor...but not before she had had the chance to throw her hair out of the window and play the captive princess, allowing Kestor's pet mouse Tiny to climb up to help her!

Her backcard story was the same in the UK as in the US. Both featured her receiving her jewel as the result of a (slightly flirtatious) star sprinkling stardust on her forehead.
