1988: Princess Ponies
Blue earth pony with white mane and tail threaded with gold, blue and pink tinsel, oval shaped jewelled medallion symbol. Spritz of tinsel forelock.
Well, this is my namesake. Princess Taffeta - possibly the most hard to find Princess Pony from the second set of Princess Ponies.
Oddly, she's also unique to the rest of the set in one way - whilst the others have mono-colour tinsel in their manes and tails, Taffeta has three colours - pink, gold and blue. As far as I know, there is no variation of Taffeta with a single tinsel colour -so I guess Hasbro must've known she was special ;)
Like with the Sundae Best Ponies, old poses were modified for this set to accomodate the symbol style. However, unlike the Sundae Best Ponies, this worked a whole lot better for the most of the Princesses!
Princess Taffeta was never sold in the United
Kingdom. She is pictured with (I think!) her correct accessories,
except the ribbon (which is not MLP).
