Sweet Kisses Ponies

The three Sweet Kisses Ponies were available in the UK and in Europe in 1993. They were based on an earlier set of the same name, which were sold as part of the North American tenth anniversary celebrations in 1992. The North American set were Sweetheart Sister style ponies, however, while the set sold in Europe used more standard Earth pony moulds.

In other respects, the sets were similar. Both releases had tinsel in the mane and not the tail, and there were shared symbol themes and even, to an extent, colouring between the two releases. Each pony also came with a faux lipstick, and this lipstick could be dipped in cold water, and dabbed on the pony's lips to make the lipstick appear. Warming the pony up (and drying it off) was meant to make the lips disappear. It didn't really work that way, since a lot of ponies ended up with lips on more than off ;) These lips can also be worn off, as they are delicate.

These three ponies were sold in the UK and in Europe. They were not sold in North America. The lipstick accessory sold with the North American release was basically the same as that in the UK and European set, although there was at least one colour variation between the two releases. The European version also came with a long-handled comb.

The naming sense for this set is a little concerning, as one of the characters was called Kiss & Tell. The collective story also featured the three ponies gossiping about a boy pony, called "Bobby", who was never made.
