Jazzie

Jazzie was one of two new characters who were introduced and sold in the Rollerskates Pony set in the UK and Europe in 1993 and 1994. This was the only version ever made of this pony, although her prototype image was originally blue. At some point she was changed to yellow.

The Rollerskates ponies came with no comb or brush, but instead had a unique CD headset with a ribbon belt, and a pair of red glasses. The glasses are the same between each pony in the set, but the headsets are different colours between the ponies and Jazzie's was lavender with a dark pink ribbon - the pony's original one is shown above. Jazzie's ribbon sash is not as dark as Hip Hops - the ones shown on each respective pony's pages came with those ponies from new and so are confirmed to belong to them.

Jazzie's Character

Jazzie never appeared in the animation or the UK comic proper, but she did appear in a poster magazine available in the UK in 1994. This contained two stories, one of which was a comic strip, in which she, Hip Hop and Melody went out skating and almost made Melody miss a performance, and another text story, in which the three ponies, along with Starlight, auditioned at the roller rink for roles in a musical. Because of her skills, Jazzie got one of the starring roles.

Jazzie also featured in the backcard collective story belonging to the Rollerskates Ponies, which is featured below.
