White Cap

White Cap was sold as part of the second full set of Adult Sea Ponies in North America, but was never sold in the UK. She did appear in the UK fact file in 1987, but it's not clear why they were included or whether Hasbro considered selling some of the set here but then changed their mind. She also made a late cameo appearance in a pony comic in the early 1990s.

She appeared in the animated special Escape from Catrina.

White Cap was sold in the original Adult Sea pony pose, and came with a brush, comb, ribbon and puffy sticker. She was also sold with the new shell style for the year - a conch shell, in pink, which is difficult to find second hand. She was never re-issued after 1985 and is one of the more difficult early ponies to find from the North American line. Her body is prone to discolouration - in part due to the metal weight inside that was used to help them stand upright in the water, and in part due to the unfortunate nature of the white plastic used, which does not age well. Although pristine white White Caps can sell for a lot of money, it is not guarantreed that any such pony will not age or discolour with time. You can see the discolouration spots on my pony, above.

There is something very like Glory in her colour scheme, giving some hints, perhaps, to Hasbro's inspiration.
