Baby Blossom was sold in the UK in 1985, as part of a set which
Hasbro called "Play and Care Set" babies. This set featured
three earth pony babies based on existing adults already on sale
in the United Kingdom. Baby Blossom was also sold as part of the
set in North America, featuring six baby ponies. The name Play
and Care Set was not used here, but the accessories between
releases were the same.
Although she featured on the 1985 insert, the style of artwork
that featured on Baby Blossom's box was similar to that used on
the packaging for the Rainbow Ponies and first set of Play and Care Baby
Ponies, suggesting she might have been an early 1985
release. I had Baby Blossom early in 1985, so that timeline fits
nicely (she was my second pony).
These were the first proper baby pony set in the UK, and they
were all sold with several accessories to help their new
'mother' take care of them.

Mother Blossom spent a lot of time in her flower garden. Baby
Blossom spent more time with the other baby ponies. She had a
few prominent comic stories, including one where her pinafore
got bleached out and had to be repaired. She could also be a
naughty baby, however, as shown in one story when she was
shouting a lot. After getting soaked in the waterfall (and not
listening to instructions to dry off), Baby Blossom caught a
cold and lost her voice completely.

Her box story suggested that she was a pony with a kind heart
and was generous enough to let her friends play on her rocker.
She, like all the baby ponies, would live mostly in Lullabye
Nursery, rather than with her mother.
