Birthflower Ponies: Scandinavia and Australia
(Sold in Stores)
The Birthflower Pony set as sold in
Scandinavia (Danish backcard shown)
Thank you to the collector who sent me this scan
The white-and-pink Mail Order release in North
America produced ponies that are relatively common to find second
hand. But in specific parts of the world, Hasbro produced a set of
alternative Birthflowers, each in distinct colours, for each
month. These are far more difficult to find and extremely sought
after second hand. They were available in Scandinavia, probably
Finland, Australia and potentially South Africa. It's known that
there were at least two kinds of card for this pony as well. There
was a vertical card in English which was sold in Australia (and
probably other places), and then in Denmark there was a horizontal
card (shown above) with the pony on the front and a blue and white
outline on the back.

They were called Fødselsdags-Pony (Birthday Pony) in Denmark, and
the card featured the name of the month and some children
celebrating a birthday party.
All ponies in this set were all blue eyed and came with a purple
flower brush and white ribbon.
