Wedding Bells Confetti

"Wedding Bells" Confetti came dressed in her finest white dress, with veil, white shoes, ring and lacy garter to show that it was her special day, although no groom was designated for this big event. She was sold in various parts of Europe, including in France. She was made in a different pose to the original Confetti sold in 1985 in North American (and 1986-7 in Scandinavia, Finland, South Africa and Australia), and was the only character from this set to see a UK release.

Her outfit was very similar to the ponywear outfit Something Old, Something New, which was not officially released in the UK as part of the ponywear line. It seems Hasbro took the ponywear, and Confetti's weddingish identity, and came up with this release.

Although the set was marketed as "Wedding Bells" (and I have occasionally seen the loose pony referred to by this name, as it is the name at the top of the box), the UK package does state explicitly that the pony is called Confetti.

The UK comic resolved the problem of the absent groom by stating that the outfit was a special gift from some pixies, as a tradition to attend one of their parties. Confetti herself named the outfit "Wedding Bells."

The backcard story for the set implied that Confetti was the bride herself. Both the box and the story referred to her as "Confetti Pony", but this is the only place this weird moniker was used. Maybe she changed her name when married...
