Baby Lucky was part of a completely different setting in the
North American release. Here, he was the cousin, and page boy to
the wedding of Satin and Lace. His horseshoe was
presumably meant as a symbol of luck in this context. He was
offered via various Mail in offers, usually at the same time as
Satin and Lace.

Baby Lucky was arguably one of the more important baby pony
characters in the early comic stories. He debuted in the UK
comic in 1986, in a story about Spike's search for a lucky
birthday buddy, and was probably brought to life by Majesty's
magic - although she never confirmed it. He was known for having
special 'happy-go-lucky' magic, which meant that when he clicked
his hooves, anything could happen. One of his more dramatic
'tricks' was bringing to life pictures of the newborn twins
from a sketch on a piece of paper (that's something you probably
don't want to have happen very often...).

His best friend was Spike the Dragon, and they had
many adventures together, including one when they found Baby
Half Note and her dance school coterie on an island. Baby Lucky
and Spike shared a birthday, and Baby Half Note ended up sharing it
with them after that meeting. Baby Lucky also discovered the Mountain Boy
Ponies living on Misty Mountain, and helped pull Baby Cuddles
and her buggy out of a lake.
