Yet More Twinkle Eye Ponies

What Hasbro did with Twinkle Eyes in North America was a bit more complicated than the simple two sets we had over here in the UK. For some reason known best to themselves, in around 1986, Hasbro added three new characters to the existing first set line. These three were added onto the North American card art, and included one pegasus, one unicorn and one earth pony. Two of these ponies - Speedy and Sky Rocket - would join the UK set in 1987, but the third, Sweet Pop, never saw a UK release.

These ponies had similar accessories to the original first set, including a flat, scented sticker featuring the new character. All three featured poses that had already been released in 1985.

As with the original set, these new Twinkle Eye ponies had four colours in their mane and tail, like the rainbow ponies, but each pony had an individual blend. None of them had glittery symbols. And, of course, each pony had a distinctive, gemstone pair of eyes.
