Peekaboo Baby Ponies

The Peekaboo Baby Ponies were an odd group of six baby ponies in a mixed set of male and female characters. There were two earth pony baby girls, two earth pony baby boys with feathered hooves, one baby unicorn and one baby pegasus. All of them were made in new moulds, to accommodate a turning-head mechanism (hence the 'peekaboo' concept). Each baby was sold in a very small box, which held the baby pony, a comb/brush and ribbon, and a bib with a coloured ribbon trim. The four girls had butterfly patterned bibs and the two boys had bear patterned bibs.

The baby boy style with the turning head and feathered hooves would return in a later set, the Playtime Baby Ponies/Playtime Baby Brother Ponies, albeit with modifications. Whirly Twirl and Ribbs are often confused with the ponies from this set.

The Peekaboo Baby Ponies were not sold in the UK. In spite of this, they seem to be quite common second hand, especially Baby Sweet Stuff, making them not difficult to acquire even if living overseas.
