Night Glider

Night Glider was sold as part of the second set of Twice as Fancy Ponies in 1988. She was sold in North America and in the Benelux countries. She was not sold in the UK. Her theme was space, and her patterning comprised planets, moons and stars. Her hair is intentionally white, and not faded from pink. She is one of the more sought after Twice as Fancy Ponies.

Night Glider's character

Night Glider had no media appearances other than in her backcard. Here, she threw a midnight party which ran through the whole night. She used her magic to make the stars dance, and then sprinkled magic stardust on her pony friends to help them sleep when dawn came. The stardust sprinkling and the dream-giving is remeniscent of the UK pony comic character, the Sandman, who also had this skill (albeit he acted at night). Night Glider seems to have been intended as a sandman type of pony, and also, perhaps, nocturnal.
