Woosie was sold as one of the Happytails Ponies in around 1988.
Although I can't confirm how they were released in the UK, some
Happytails ponies have been found here, making it likely that
some import ponies did get across the atlantic. The boxes for
the Happytails ponies did also include UK release information,
suggesting they were at least offered to the UK market, even if
they were not massively taken up. However, they are
predominately a North American set release, and are much more
common across the atlantic.
Like all Happytails ponies, Woosie is made of very soft plastic,
and her tail has a ring around it. When you press her withers,
her tail swings from side to side or goes all around. She has a
happy tail. Woot.
Woosie came in two versions. Why this happened, nobody is quite
sure. It is possible that they ran out of aqua squishy plastic
and thus used the plastic for Romper, though this does not
explain the magenta symbol, nor the fact that she is
considerably lighter in colour than Romper is. Though at first
people (myself included) thought she might be a European
variation (as I found mine here), all mint in package versions
have been found in North America, where she is more commonly
found. So it is likely she is really a North American pony, and
some trickled here through whatever method they came to the UK.
My thanks to Shivhae for the donated images of both versions
Mint in Box.

The accessories for both releases were the same. The lavender
version is considerably harder to find overall than the aqua
one, which is the standard version.
