The Greatest Hits of 1986 - with cake

In 1986, Hasbro decided to bundle together some of the themes of the year into one big gift pack. What the mindset behind this was is unclear - what was being celebrated is unknown - but it may have simply been intended as an all in one starter My Little Pony kit. Whatever the mindset, the Party Gift Pack included five ponies who were not just in different poses, but were from completely different styles and sets. The collection included a Twinkle Eye, a flutter, a pearly baby sea pony, a so soft and a beddy bye eye baby. None of these were sold in sets outside of the Party Gift Pack, and all of them had names and (where applicable) symbols that supported the party theme. This set was sold in North America. It is unclear whether it was sold in other places. The accessories shown in the above insert picture are more or less correct for the set.

This set was not sold in the UK - although many of the accessories (with some amendments) were released over here in 1987, along with Tutti Frutti, the Birthday Pony. Notable exceptions include the pin the tail on the pony board - the Party Gift Set version featured Party Time.
