Mondschein (Aka Moonstone)

Mondschein was introduced in the 1988 German Rainbow, or Regenbogen-Ponys set. She is heavily based on Moonstone, although her symbol is metallic paint, and not glittery.

Otherwise, she is basically the same, although her body is generally a darker hue. It is highly likely that Mondschein, along with Hummelchen, were reissues from the previous year's set who stayed around for this release. It is not clear whether any other version of Moonstone made in Hong Kong was made available in Germany.

This set of Rainbow Ponies did not have uniform hair colours. They were sold with shooting star brushes, combs and ribbons, but their brushes did not have rainbow stickers, unlike with earlier releases (although in Germany, Italian-made Rainbow ponies also did not have stickers on their brushes, which may explain this anomaly).
