When the Schooltime Ponies first appeared on the internet in
the late 1990s, some ID sites insisted on calling her Art-Time
instead of Paintingtime.
A similar name issue happened with
Baby Count-a-Lot, who was
persistently called Abacus by the same ID sites for years. In
her case, Abacus was her Spanish name, which had been muddled
into the English release - but in the case of Paintingtime,
this does not seem to have happened. The explanation given at
the time was that it was a translation of her German name, but
Paintingtime's German name is Klecksi, not Artzeit. In
short, there is no evidence that Paintingtime was ever sold
with this name, and it seems to have been invented by those
sites in years past. Because of the reluctance of those sites
to amend their information, the error persisted so long that
even now, years later, this wrong name still sometimes
surfaces.
