Paintingtime

Paintingtime was one of four earth ponies sold in the Schooltime Pony set. She was sold in simple colours, and in an older pose style, with freckles on her cheeks. She came with an ABC comb and a neon yellow satchel.

She was sold in the UK and in parts of Europe, and possibly Australia and New Zealand (this is unconfirmed). She was not sold in North America.

When the Schooltime Ponies first appeared on the internet in the late 1990s, some ID sites insisted on calling her Art-Time instead of Paintingtime.

A similar name issue happened with Baby Count-a-Lot, who was persistently called Abacus by the same ID sites for years. In her case, Abacus was her Spanish name, which had been muddled into the English release - but in the case of Paintingtime, this does not seem to have happened. The explanation given at the time was that it was a translation of her German name, but Paintingtime's German name is Klecksi, not Artzeit. In short, there is no evidence that Paintingtime was ever sold with this name, and it seems to have been invented by those sites in years past. Because of the reluctance of those sites to amend their information, the error persisted so long that even now, years later, this wrong name still sometimes surfaces.

Please note that this is not, and has never been the name of this pony. The image below shows the correct names for this release.

Paintingtime's Character

Paintingtime was the artist of the Schooltime Ponies. She also seems to have been one of the more organised or responsible characters from this group. She was also willing to help out other characters, as in one story where she helps Playtime to track down a missing hammer.
