Sportstime

Sportstime was one of four earth ponies sold in the Schooltime Pony set. He was sold in simple colours, and in an older pose style, with freckles on his cheeks.

Although up until this year, this particular pose had only been used for female pony releases, in 1991, it became a male adult pony pose instead. What happened to the feathered hoof moulds is unclear, but the four adult male ponies that were sold in and after 1991 all used this Gingerbread pose instead. Sportstime was characterised as a boy in the comics and backcards.

He came with an ABC comb and a neon yellow satchel.

He was sold in the UK and in parts of Europe, and possibly Australia and New Zealand (this is unconfirmed). He was not sold in North America.

Sportstime's Character

Sportstime was a good natured, laid back kind of character, but maybe not the sharpest tool in the box. He was a trusting soul, which could make him susceptible to Playtime's practical joke. Sometimes this landed him in trouble (as seen in the picture below). But he never held a grudge and was also always game to try something new. He loved all sports, and his saying was "any sport's a good sport".
