Baby Crumpet came with the second My Little Pony Purse release. She was sold in 1987, and featured the popular gimmick of the year - a little white first tooth.  She was sold with a special unique purse which had a pocket on the front to carry her in. The idea, it seemed, was for her to be an out-and-about pony - carried about by her loving "pony mummy" as she went about her daily activities.

This was the second purse release; unlike the first, there is no evidence that Baby Crumpet was sold in the UK. None have ever been found, nor any trace of her purse. It is unclear whether she was sold in any part of Europe.

Baby Crumpet's design was based on the adult pony Crumpet, who was also on sale in 1987.
