Baby Bouncy was one of two First Tooth baby ponies introduced
in this set. She was designed after the So Soft pony
Bouncy, and had the same colouring and basic symbol design. She
also had a first tooth. She was featured in one of the new baby
pegasus pony poses - the pose would be used again in later sets,
for ponies which were not technically First Tooth babies.
This set was on sale in North America in 1987, and reached the
UK in 1988. It was also sold in most European countries in 1988.
The box designs were the same across most releases, with only
Italy having it's own style of box. There are minor differences
in the box layout in English between the UK and North America,
such as spelling changes, but the easiest way to tell a UK box
at a glance is the type of hole punched at the top. Boxes in
other countries were translated into the relevant languages, as
with the box shown below from France.

Aside the unique Italian box (in which the pony had the same accessories as above), there were two other unique releases within Europe. One was the Dutch My Little Pony club promotional card version, where the baby pony came only with a single toothbrush (poor mite!).
Baby Bouncy was a cute and mischievous character in the pony
comic. In one story, she managed to make herself invisible while
messing around in Majesty's throneroom, causing chaos and
freaking everyone out. Her mother pony, Bouncy, didn't exist in
the UK, and so Baby Bouncy was usually involved in stories with
the other First Tooth Baby Ponies.
She appeared in the animation, but mostly as a background
character, and never really had a significant role in the
stories.
